PUBLISHING DRUNK DRIVERS' PHOTOS-
Don White a writer for the newspaper in Anderson County, Ky, is always getting calls from people begging him to take their names of the court list in the paper . White didn't do as they asked he firmly kept it there to show people about drunk driving. On December 31st of 1998, people who read The Anderson News read the headline of the paper which read " HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR" "but please don't drink and drive and risk having you picture published", white explained that staring in January of 1998 The Anderson News will start publishing Drunk drivers mug shots in the newspaper. Most of the people hate having their name and photo in the newspaper for drunk driving, but the newspaper was hoping it would keep people from drinking and driving.
THE MEDIA'S FOUL BALL-
In 2003 the Chicago Cubs were 5 outs from going to the world series, for the very first time sense 1945. When a fan for the Chicago Cubs in the stands tried to catch a foul ball, which coast the world series for the Cubs. The Florida Marlins won that game, and the guy who tried catching the ball was thrown out by security and yelled at by a bunch of very angry fans who threw beer at him. The fan wasn't recognized till shown on television during the replays, the media have been deciding on rather not they should show the world who cost the wolf series for the Chicago cubs.
Controversy over a Concert-
In 2004, three former Eagles Rock Band members came to Denver during the election campaign to help raise money for U.S candidate. John Tepmle the editor for the Rocky Mountain News, told his staff not to go to the fundraising concert, due to not being able to go because of all newsroom employees from making political donations. They also will not be aloud to attend nay other fundraising concerts during the political month. Many of the employes are trying to make ways to go, asking if they can buy tickets and go themselves.
