snapchat

SNAPCHAT

what is snapchat? Snapchat is a different kind of social media, that teenagers all over the world use who have any touch screen device with the app. Social Media these days is usually posting pics or your thoughts, but snapchat simply takes a picture with a caption or none and send it to anyone for 10 seconds or less.

After those 10 seconds or less are up the picture goes away, but if you have a phone that takes screenshots then you can take one of the picture sent  but it tells the person who sent it that a screenshot has been taken. Also with this app when a picture is taken you can then upload it to "your story" which anyone that is added to your snapchat contacts can see the picture.

Most people think the pictures they send to other people are easily vanished, which automatically goes to their brains thinking it's alright to send inappropriate photos. These days apps are made to hijack the app and not tell people when screenshots are taken.

This app was made to communicate with people in a different way then other social medias are made to do. To take a quick pic and an added message for a certain amount of time, which to some people think it;s now okay to send nudes as a way of communicating and get away with it.

When teenagers tel their parents about snapchat and how it works or what it does, because they automatically think it's a bad thing. Or the parents know there are people out there who aren't just teenagers using this app and acting like nothing can happen. The parents freak out and have an eye rolling fit about how dumb snapchat is.

What the parents don't know is how fun it is to talk over snapchat and see pictures from your friend or videos that make you laugh and pee your pants.

OPINIONS WRITING PREVIEW

SCHOOL CAFETERIA FOOD:

The one thing most students say about school food is that, it's disgusting. Not many people have a taste for school lunches for breakfast, its the taste and look of it that scares off the students. S.O.S is that the students say when they are in the lunch line waiting for death to happen in their stomachs.

Spaghetti, sandwiches, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc. I've had school lunch and some of it is not all that bad but also i gag at the smell of it. Austin AISD took some of the food away that we actually liked because it wasn't healthy, but is the food they're serving us now really healthy? or is it worse? Nobody really knows except for the people that make it for us, but i guess it's not that bad sense they're serving it to us.

I've heard the craziest things ever about cafeteria food, some you can believe but then some are too crazy to even process.  "One time in third grade i found a band aide in my rice, and it had blood on it", "There was a piece of hair in my spaghetti", "i heard that the chicken nuggets are made out of horse meat". All these things have been said, but how many are true? I honestly don't really like the food but i do like their meatballs and mac and cheese, i used to love their hotdogs but sadly hotdogs was taken of the menu when the UN healthy stuff was taken away.

HUNTINGTON STORY

On Wednesday, around 10 p.m, 53 year old Janice Jones who lives in Barstow, California in a motor home was eating pork chops when her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off the table which shot her right through the leg. While the bullet went though Jones leg, it managed to go through the left side of her motor home, if the bullet it two more inches to the gas tank, it would of been a lot worse.
Jones was transported by ambulance to Huntington Beach Hospital, then was sent to Irvine Medical Center. No other information was given.

Jones' dog named Tombo (Pomeranian), was taken care of at Huntington Beach Animal Control, according to Janet Ngo who was one of the Animal Control officers had seen fresh cigarette burns on the dogs forehead. "It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops", Ngo said.  Jones' office was looking at filing an animal abuse charge over Jones', indicated Ngo.

California Highway Patrol press Tammy Rye, had noticed that Jones' plates on her car where expired, the district attorney's office was considering charging Jones' for the gun accident considering  that Jones' did not have a permit for the gun.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Student of the month is for students who are involved in many activities and helps out with the school, they don't just have to get good grades, it's not just about the grades but students who are great students. The students should be in clubs, sports, leadership maybe and also volunteer for the school or outside of school. The teachers recommend or pick their best students who they think should be student of the month.

There are certain people picked for student of the month, all the people who are chosen for this event, their picture has been hung up in the show room  at Bowie High School in the Library. Seyi Odufuye was one of the students chosen for this month.

"I'm wonderful and perfect in every way possible" student of the month Seyi Odufuye said.

Seyi became student of the month because she's perfect in every way, and wonderful.

" I was inspired by myself"

Seyi wasn't inspired by anyone such as her friends or family or teachers, but she was inspired by herself.

" I wasn't really surprised because my competition wasn't really competition"

The other people Seyi went up against wasn't really complicated for her because she didn't see them as competition

" I'm better then everybody else"

One of the reasons why Seyi was chosen for student of the month rather then other people is becasue shes better then everyone else

"from a friend"

Seyi didn't hear student of the month from a teacher or a councilor but she heard it from a friend who was a former student of the month

"just be myself"

To be student of the month, Seyi didn't really have to do much to get this honor all she had to do was be herself.

"No, because i was already looked at"

Many people already look at Seyi as a great person, so people don't really look at her differently sense the student of the month award.

"all the time"

Although people already asked her for advice before student of the month, more and more people have been recently asking more advice from her.

"it recognizes how perfect i am"

Sense Student of the month went to Seyi she's been loving it because students and teachers recognize how perfect she is.

"mine is to make sure everybody is like me"

Responsibilities was a huge part of being chosen for student of the month, now that she won the award she has responsibilities pilling on her every chance she has.

WHO- who was in this story? who was the participants in this problem? Roger Clementine, John Jacob Jingleheimer-Smith, Melba Jingleheimer-Smith

WHAT- A car accident occurred

WHERE- Austin, Texas 1st street and slaughter lane

WHEN- Tuesday afternoon @ 4:45pm

WHY- the 13 year old boy was illegaly driving

HOW- does a 13 year old boy really know how to drive? maybe that's whats wrong

                                                                 CAR ACCIDENT
LEDE- Tuesday afternoon around 4:45pm, a car accident occurred, on 1st street and Slaughter Lane. Roger Clementine is the 13 year old boy who was driving and got in the accident, Jacob and Melba Smith both 91 and 67 were in the accident as well and injured. Both were taken to the hospital while Mr.Smith was taking on a serious head injury. While only Clementine only suffered a few cuts on his face but was taken to the hospital but then released.

NUT GRAF- Clementine was going 60 mph, going west in the eastbound lane on slaughter lane, which is the wrong way. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were going 10 mph in the far eastbound lane  of slaughter heading east. Clementine was cited by the police for driving without a liscense, speeding, and driving in the wrong lane.

"I was on the other side of the road in traffic and this kid was going so fast in maybe at lest a 40 mph limit" said witness Mary Ann

The road Clementine was driving  was way below the sped limit of what the speed he was going. Which was about 20 mph over what he was supposed to be driving.

" When i first got called on the job I didn't realize that it was a 13 year old driving the car" said the Police officer first called.

When you see a car speeding down the wrong side of the road, you don't really think of a 13 year old driving the car, people would probably think. Where's the parents?

"The old couple shouldn't of been driving 10mph on a 40mph road, this road is for fast traffic not slow driving with no traffic" witness Michael Johnson said.

A road that's a main road and the speed limit is 40mph should always go 40mph, not any slower, it's 40 for a reason.

" I feel really bad for the housband, getting a serious head injury at the age of 91 must be really harsh", Brittany longstock said

New royal on the way for Prince William, Duchess Kate

Timeliness: This shows time because, the news on the new royal baby was just announced today, which represents on current news. It shows the facts about the royal baby.
By Staff
LONDON — Prince George is not going to be an only child for long — the toddler will soon have a baby sister or brother to share his fancy digs at Kensington Palace.
British royal officials said Monday that Prince William and the duchess of Cambridge, the former Kate Middleton, are expecting their second child.
For the second time, Kate is being treated for acute morning sickness in the early phases of her pregnancy.
The first time she was so ill she required hospitalization. This time, she is being treated by doctors at her residence in Kensington Palace.
The new baby, boy or girl, will become fourth in line to the throne, pushing Prince Harry to fifth. George, who is 13 months old, is third. William is second in line, while his father, Prince Charles, is first.
Britain had changed its laws before George’s birth so that the couple’s first born would be in line for the throne regardless of its sex. Before the change, a girl would have lost her place in line if a boy was born later.

BURNET -- According to the Austin American Statesman, two former McNeil High School students were killed in a deadly accident in Burnet County Friday.

Trooper Robbie Barrera says Kylie Murphy, who would have turned 21 next month, was driving during Friday night's wreck near Oakalla.
The siblings were driving back to Austin from Lubbock when they collided with another vehicle. Barrera says the car was southbound on U.S. 183 when the wheels left the road, Kylie Murphy overcorrected and the vehicle skidded into the path of an oncoming pickup truck. DPS says the truck driver suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
"It's been an unbelievable start to the year," Texas Tech spokesman Chris Cook said. "A somber start to the year."
At McNeil High School, Ryan played on the football team and Kylie performed on the school's drill team.
The University has made counseling services available to any student in need.

Whats in my name:

My characteristics are very true, i have struggle against limits ad a steady growth in life, i don't really order people around but  i do ask people to do things for me sometimes. i don't really do much service but every summer i do volunteer at a church camp and help the leaders. The fact that my number is 4 is super weird because that used to be my softball number.
My soul Urge number is 11: the first thing it says about me is that my thinking and interests relate to my dreams pretty  much and my imagination, which is true, i have the weirdest dreams ever and i base my imagination off of it and think about things that could yo be in life. the next thing it says is that i motivate toward idealistic concepts, and that i share my ideas with everyone mainly my parents and some of my friends, my friends tell my i have the craziest ideas ever but sometimes they actually work. I am true to my religion which it tells me, i go to bible study every Wednesday. I'm not going to say I'm physic but there are points were I'm dreaming and its of me at school eating lunch with my friends making jokes, then like a couple days later it'll happen which is really weird something from mind came to reality.
I don't really have the dream of the perfect world but i do dream of what the world should be but not really perfect, I am very idealistic of life i'm the person in the room that makes up ideas but comes up with the craziest ideas about the problem. When it says that I am extremely strong to my beliefs that's not true really, I believe in god and love but i don't really believe in the sense of marriage. "you have a very good mind that is especially well equipped to handle the higher, more abstract forms of thought",  that saying about me is very true about me, i think usually think different then other people.
I started wearing makeup in 7th grade because some guy told me i needed to "to put something on my ugly face" which stung a nerve in me sense i was bullied in elementary school.  I tend to wear a right amount of make up but also put in something special. So i put in all my insecurities in my makeup because it makes me feel better in life. The thing about being super sensitive and emotional is that i cry a whole bunch during movies no matter if it's even not that sad. I can take a joke but sometimes i can't because it just hurts a little no matter if a joke or not.
In those movies were there is a "chosen one" in life i feel like i am that person, like I'm special and unique that i can do anything, mainly because i can help people with any problem they have, also because i'm a dreamer like in "shark boy and lava girl". I've been told i have such a strong personality and am the life of the party.
